REVIEW: A Place Called Perfect
"Their years of imprisonment burned in their eyes, adding strength to their bones."
⭐️⭐️⭐️

Another middle grade (9-11 years) book onto my read list! I try to review these books against each other rather than generally and although this was readable, it didn't wow me.
I felt that it was a bit predictable. I think perhaps the teases earlier on in the story which paved the way for reveals later on weren't subtle enough because I knew immediately what they were leading to.
One great thing about this book is its sense of adventure. I'm sure a kid's imagination would adore this aspect of it.
I doubt I'll read the next one in the series but to be honest I'm not a huge fan of book series anyway so this isn't necessarily a minus point for the book. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to the right age group but it wouldn't be the first one on my list.
