“Something’s wrong in the air, you know, when a book costs less than a bullet."
This book, I just don't know. The premise was very intriguing - a young man who visits the bookshop a lot is found hanged and leaves a trail behind for one of the employees to find. Unfortunately though, this was another example of the premise being better than the actual book.
One of the main reasons I don't tend to read books with a mystery like this is that they always seem to fall flat, when everything comes together it's always underwhelming. This was similar. The messages left by Joey didn't seem to actually tell us much. The final discovery shall we say was okay but didn't really change too much at the end. Perhaps I'm being too critical, I'm not sure. But what I do know, is that this book just didn't do it for me.
I wouldn't want to put people off, because I do think some people would enjoy it, so if it sounds like your thing, then give it a go.
