"Quotation to come"
I was thrilled to receive this book from the publisher. Queenie is a down-to-earth, modern story of a twenty-something British/Jamaican woman facing the trials of life in London. Her life turns upside down when her boyfriend asks to take a break and she moves out of their shared apartment.
I loved how realistic and honest this book was. Carty-Williams managed to seamlessly intertwine humour with serious, hard-hitting observations on prejudice and discrimination, which is not an easy feet. It was timely, fresh and enjoyable. I am sure it will do very well when it's released in April. It's basically a younger and more diverse Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine. Be sure to grab this one when it's out.
