REVIEW: Sum: Tales from the Afterlives

“Since we live in the heads of those who remember us, we lose control of our lives and become who they want us to be.”

A short and very sweet book based on fictional ideas of the afterlife. I loved this because I'm fascinated by the afterlife. I'm not religious but I still believe there is something after we leave this life, so this was a real treat for my imagination.

One of the things that I loved most about this is that almost every single person who reads it will have a different favourite version of the afterlife because we all value different things. It is a beautiful book of wistful storytelling. Every version of the afterlife is unique. Plus, I listened to it on Audible and it's read by a very star-studded cast!

There's something about David Eagleman's mind which makes all these tales brighten in your own. This book is definitely a model of imaginative thought. I don't think there are many people who wouldn't take something from these pages - definitely worth a read.
