REVIEW: The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams
“This must be Thursday,' said Arthur to himself, sinking low over his beer. 'I never could get the hang of Thursdays.”
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I needed an easy-going audiobook to listen to, so when I was reminded of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy I thought, that'll do the trick! I tried to read the print version when I was a lot younger and I didn't finish it, but I expect it was because I didn't have the commitment than rather than I wasn't enjoying it. This time though, I thought it was brilliant.
Aside from the fact that it's narrated by Stephen Fry (who should legally be required to narrate all audiobooks) and that I love the film (still have a huge crush on Martin Freeman's Arthur Dent), the book was extremely enjoyable. I'm sure many people would agree that there's nothing quite like it - it's unique in its wittiness and charm. It had me genuinely laughing out loud sometimes, which is quite the feet for a book.
If you haven't read it, I would recommend that you do so, and the audiobook is spot on. The perfect antidote to the busyness and seriousness of life.
