REVIEW: What Red Was by Rosie Price

What Red Was is an insight into trauma and the state of our society in relation to sexual crimes and how they're interpreted. At many moments, it's not easy to read and rightly so, but books just like Price's are exactly the kind of stories we need to be hearing, even if they're fictional. A part of raising awareness of an issue in society which has been brushed beneath the carpet for so long, is by creating art from the pain. This book shows how important culture is in reflecting society.

Despite the topic, it was readable and the characters were authentic. When I say that, I also mean that none of them are particularly likeable. They're all flawed, as we all are. I would definitely have no qualms in recommending it.
